I am so excited to shoot Mahsa and Mahdi’s wedding, mainly because Chad and I had such a great time shooting with them in Jasper in the summertime. They are two very sweet people who are totally in love with each other, and so easy in front of the camera. Sorry to have kept these beautiful people from the blog for so long. Enjoy.

I wanted to do an individual portrait of each of them, so I had them take turns siting in the grass in front of me.
Then when one was seated, I would ask them to look at the other (who was standing behind me). Their expressions are so sweet and genuine.

Happy new year, and thanks for stopping by my wedding and portrait blog! I’ve neglected this blog something terrible, mostly because my business has taken me in a different direction – boudoir photography. I am still shooting weddings, couples and headshots, and will be trying to blog more of my work in the coming weeks.
For now, I’m sharing a styled bridal shoot of the lovely Jenn. In fact, it was shot with another amazingly talented photographer (and good friend of mine) Jennifer Kennedy when I was in Powell River, BC to visit. I am a little embarassed to admit that we shot this in July 2010. Yeah…I’m a little behind on my blogging. We went to a top-secret location, however if you grew up in Powell River you know exactly where this is. It’s such a gorgeous peaceful spot and I try to go there whenever I make the trip back to PR. I spent many sun-filled days here with my friends. It’s one of the most naturally beautiful spots I’ve ever seen.

Jenn and Robb were married at the incredible Riviera Palm Springs Resort. To say I feel lucky is an understatement – The Riviera is so amazing, and an absolute blast to shoot at. The retro vibe and mid-centry modern design of the entire property is so different and full of energy, and the staff were amazing. The food…OH the food…so good.
Normally I do a lot of black and white images for my wedding photography but this place was so vibrant and full of life that I kept most of it in color. Jenn and Robb are also vibrantly full of life and love for each other. I felt so excited to shoot with an amazing couple like them.
Hope you have a comfy chair, enjoy the photos!

I hope you have a comfy seat, because I had some trouble narrowing down the images to share! Stevii and John had an absolutely beautiful wedding day and I feel so lucky to have been the one to photograph such an important day in their lives. Lucky for me, Stevii is a huge Jimmy Choo fan.

Stevii was absolutely beaming all day. Can you blame her?

Normally I don’t really post any of the family formals on my blog, but this one of John and his dad was too cute not to share.
Their getaway car was a vintage Rolls Royce.

John arranged for a golf cart to drive us down into a meadow beneath a train bridge. So rad. Thanks John.

One groomsman was for sure not a ‘true’ scotsman…I’m not sure about the rest…but really, I don’t want to know! haha!

Chad and I had such a great time photographing the bride and groom portrait session. Gorgeous.

Um, hi. Are you kidding me? Stevii knows how to work it. I could shoot with her for days.

Not only did Stevii and John get bagpipes to lead them in, but the haggis was also piped in. I did not eat the haggis. My Scottish relatives rolled in their graves I’m sure.
There were some lively speeches, and this was a dedication to the haggis. Hilarious…if only I could have understood what he said! haha!
