Jasper engagement session | Mahsa and Mahdi

I am so excited to shoot Mahsa and Mahdi’s wedding, mainly because Chad and I had such a great time shooting with them in Jasper in the summertime. They are two very sweet people who are totally in love with each other, and so easy in front of the camera. Sorry to have kept these beautiful people from the blog for so long. Enjoy.I wanted to do an individual portrait of each of them, so I had them take turns siting in the grass in front of me.Then when one was seated, I would ask them to look at the other (who was standing behind me). Their expressions are so sweet and genuine.

vancouver photographer | couples photo shoot

I have to admit, I haven’t done many portraits or couples shoots lately…because I’ve been focusing my time and energy on my boudoir studio. Boudoir photography is definitely my #1 passion and when I moved to Vancouver I decided to focus on that niche and do what lights my fire. That said, because I’ve been shooting so many boudoir sessions I forgot how much I LOVE shooting with couples! I felt totally inspired and invigorated after shooting with Jen and Brandon. It helps that they are really cute too.

Jen and Brandon haven’t had photos done together since their wedding 5 years ago so of course it meant a lot to me that Jen asked me to shoot some updated portraits of them in their hometown of Powell River. Powell River has such a kitchy little charm about it…of course I wanted to take advantage, so we found an awesome neighbourhood to wander around and take photos of them being all cute n stuff. :)

She still laughs at his jokes. I love it.
Maybe (that’s the dog’s name) joined us for some ‘family photos’! She is so cute, and I adore how her tongue just hangs out of her mouth. What a goof. She’s all excited in the first photo because I asked her if she wanted a treat…my flips out for that word too! I love her closed eyes in the second one, could she look any happier?

Cabo San Lucas Mexico Engagement Shoot

Wow. I have seriously been neglecting this blog! I’ve been so busy focusing on my boudoir photography that I never got around to blogging the images from Carol and Phil’s engagement photo shoot in Cabo San Lucas back in February (hangs head in shame).

Well I apologize for keeping these beautiful people from you all, we had a lot of fun shooting their engagement session on the beach outside of the resort. Hope you enjoy them!

No that’s not a bird, it’s a manta ray! They jump out of the water…it’s funny to see them flopping around in the air.The water *looks* calm, but really the waves were a little intense (and surprised Carol)!

Keirell + Martin got in touch with me to shoot while I was in Perth. So so so glad that we were able to hook up! The light in Australia is amazing, and they are pretty darn good looking! Loved their connection.

When playing with a tilt shift lens and staring into the sun, you are bound to get a bunch of photos that are out of focus. I normally delete those but I happened to like this one. What do you think?

I am extremely honored and excited to announce that one of my images was selected as ‘The Best Engagement Photos in Canada, 2010′ by Bride.ca! I am so flattered as there were so many gorgeous images submitted by amazing photographers across the country. My image of Cara and Marc in an Edmonton wheat field made the final cut!

Here are some more images from the session. We did 2 looks, a contemporary lifestyle engagement session, and a vintage e-session, with wardrobe styled by the ever fashionable bride-to-be, Cara!

Congratulations to Cara and Marc for being so darn cute and for wanting a fun theme for their engagement photos!

Vancouver couples photos | Leah and Matt

You’ve seen this cute redhead before, it’s Leah, my friend from Ohio. She came to visit me in Vancouver and this time she brought her man, Matt, with her. I’ve known Leah for about 2 years now, and I have never ever seen her this happy. I am so glad she found Matt. He is always making her laugh, and he loves her so much.

We started out shooting around the Main Street neighborhood.

Matt goofing off…you’ll see several during this blog post.

Just love this moment between them.

Since I made Leah stand in front, she had to keep tabs and make sure Matt wasn’t making faces behind her.

He just can’t help himself…

We headed over to Kits Beach to take advantage of the sunset for the 2nd half of the shoot.

This is by far one of my favorite sessions ever, because it is so obvious how comfortable these two are with each other.

Christy contacted me a few months ago as her fiancee had just been called to go play hockey in Germany and needed to get their engagement photos done asap! I took them to my favorite spot and we shot for about 30 minutes before the mosquitoes got SO BAD! It was terrible! The mosquitoes were just horrendous so we moved to a new location on a rooftop to finish the rest of the session.Christy’s engagement ring is UNREAL. Way to go Grant!

Vancouver Engagement Photos | Kristina and Jeremy

A few weeks ago I met up with Kristina and Jeremy at Whitecliff Park in West Vancouver for a morning engagement shoot. Jeremy proposed to Kristina here a few months earlier, which made the location of our photo shoot extra special, not to mention AWESOME! They are totally cute, snuggly, and in love. They are planning their wedding for next summer on the east coast. Congrats on the engagement and happy planning!

Little did we know but there was a momma and baby hanging out at the beach that morning too!

Apparently the beach is a good place to hang out.

I can’t tell you how much I love this pair of images.

Some exciting news: I am now living in Vancouver! Yay! I’m available for engagement shoots, portraits or boudoir Mon-Fri for the month of September (still have shoots in Edmonton on the weekends) and after Sept 25 I am in Vancouver full time.
