Trash the dress in Cabo, Mexico

Carol had a second wedding gown so we decided to use it for a Trash the Dress session! We didn’t actually ‘trash’ her dress, but got some images that we wouldn’t normally do on the wedding day. Sitting through dinner in a wet wedding gown just wouldn’t be comfortable!

The day after Carol and Phil’s wedding, we arranged to do a casual shoot in the marina area of Cabo San Lucas and a ‘trash the dress’ photo shoot (coming next week).

I was trying to get some macro shots of the florals when this little guy buzzed in. I know he’s not in focus but I was just amazed to get him at all! They are so fast!

Carol and Phil got married in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They are such a sweet couple!

Below is the view from Carol and Phil’s room. Jealous! Although I am not overly jealous, our room had a sweet view too :)Carol’s bouquet was so interesting, lots of color and texture.Carol’s stunning Pronovias gown.Cheers to the new Mr & Mrs! The guests gathered on the lawn for a group photo.Groomsman on the left was being such a brat. I reminded him that I have the power of photoshop! haha! I have so much fun with the bridal party :DThe color of the sky and water in Cabo is so soft and pretty. Its like a dream.An emotional father/daughter dance.

*blows dust off blog*

Wow. I have seriously been neglecting this blog! I’ve been so busy focusing on my boudoir photography that I never got around to blogging the images from Carol and Phil’s engagement photo shoot in Cabo San Lucas back in February (hangs head in shame).

Well I apologize for keeping these beautiful people from you all, we had a lot of fun shooting their engagement session on the beach outside of the resort. Hope you enjoy them!

No that’s not a bird, it’s a manta ray! They jump out of the water…it’s funny to see them flopping around in the air.The water *looks* calm, but really the waves were a little intense (and surprised Carol)!

Leah Stafford | Mexico

Leah and I ‘met’ each other about 2 years ago through an online message board about Destination Weddings, because we both had one. Leah has been a mentor to me through this last year and a half while I stumble and soar through photography. She has also become one of my best friends. I’m kinda weird and she gets my sense of humor. Every time we get together we get the giggles…we’ve been threatened by flight attendants at 6am, received countless evil glares and we ALWAYS have great stories to tell after our adventures. I’ve had the pleasure of assisting Leah at 2 destination weddings – the Bahamas last year and Cancun this week. I’ve also been able to witness her boudoir magic in New York City. She’s an amazing photographer and a dear friend.

Of course, when we get together we like to play cameras. This time we actually got ourselves dressed up and shot portraits of each other. You can check out the photos she shot of me on her blog.

Photographing my friend was a lot of fun. I also was able to try some new processing techniques to really bring out the feeling in each image. Some of the images are a bit different from my normal style but I really like the artistic direction I have taken with them. Please let me know what you think in the comments below.
